Feeling In A Rut? Do This Today!

Let me ask you an honest question. When is the last time that you truly did something for YOU? If your answer is not anytime within the last week, we need to fix that ASAP!

Recently, I’ve been feeling in a bit of a rut and like I lost my “flow”. A few unexpected projects popped up in my personal life over Thanksgiving, and with a teething baby still not sleeping at night and a toddler going through a nightly bedtime power struggle, I’m not going to lie – I’ve been feeling BEAT!

However, this past week, I did something so simple that was a game changer for me – I took a few hours out of my day to go and get my hair done. Yep, that’s it. Something SO simple that I easily took for granted before having kids. But yet a gentle reminder that this is an example of something that I need to do MORE of on a regular basis in order to keep the ball rolling.

When we do something that makes ourselves FEEL better, that immediate confidence boost is sometimes all that is needed to kick a rut to the curb and get back on track. When we feel great about ourselves, we want to go more places, see more people, and just in general DO more things.

So this is your permission today to do “that thing” that has the ability to make you feel amazing about yourself. Whether you take an extra 10 minutes to do your makeup today. Take the time to get your hair done. Buy a new outfit that makes you feel like a thousand bucks. Get a facial or a massage. Whatever it is, do it. It may just be that missing link for you today!
